London - Art & Design

if you are into creative, art & design, September and October will be the two perfect months to be in london. although london is full of galleries that have exhibitions all year round, 100%Design London and The London Design Festival take place every year in September and October, exhibiting many design works, these two design festivals are something cannot miss. few places i highly recommend to go, some places i went and some places i am dying to visit:

- Super Design 2010, mainly furniture designs

- The London Craft Fair, amazing hand crafts

- Victoria and Albert Museum, the V&A has a magnificent collection of fine and applied arts spanning 3,000 years. artefacts include ceramics, fashion, paintings and illustrations. it also has a great jewellery collections. it has special exhibition every now and then, i went to see the Grace Kelly exhibition this year, it was amazing. at the moment is exhibiting:

- Wellcome Collection, featuring very interesting exhibitions from time to time, do go and check out their website and see what currently is on.

- Tate Modern, a modern art museum that need not to be introduced. featuring at the moment:
The Unilever Series: Ai Weiwei (i will be going, see you there!)
and if you are interest in contemporary art, Saatchi Gallery, of course is another one that you cannot miss.

- The Barbican, featuring at the moment an exhibition cannot be miss (which i still have not gone to yet, must go must go!!!)

- Design Museum, although is a small museum, i think is worth to go and have a peek, at the moment one exhibition i am interested is: Drawing Fashion 03 November – 06 March 2011, read this - http://designmuseum.org/exhibitions/2010/2010-drawing-fashion

- Somerset House, it is a must go, two things are on at the moment:
Dior Illustrated: René Gruau and the Line of Beauty Until 9 January

 Tiffany & Co. presents Skate at Somerset House Until 23 January
perfect for Christmas, enjoy winter warmers at Tom's Skate Lounge, and exclusively designed cupcakes, sweets and jewellery at the Tiffany Tuck Shop.

- Fashion & Textile Museum, the academy of fashion, textiles and jewellery. the museum shop is worth to have a look and shop! =) Exhibitions:

- Natural History Museum - The New Darwin Centre, if you are not a big fan of natural history, is still worth to go and visit the Darwin Centre just to admire its architecture take a quick peek here now.
